Volunteers, or rather a small army of volunteers, are what really makes Just A Short Run happen each year. Some you see on race day, others are behind the scenes doing things weeks or even months ahead. If you are not participating on race day or want to help prior to the race , we would love to have you join us.
Here are some of the things we could use your help to accomplish
- Sponsor Solicitation: The race has expenses to cover and the more help we get from sponsor money or in-kind donations allows us to donate more to the charity after the event
- Race Bag Stuffing: Participants love to get free stuff and we need help stuffing the approximately 2,300 bags about a week prior to the event. FYI, Free food and refreshments provided.
- Packet Pickup/LAte Registration: Volunteers are needed at Elite Runners & Walkers Robinson Township location to help dsitribute the race bags, timing chips, race shorts, tees, and race day instructions.
- Dates this year are
- Wednesday March 28, 2012 - 10 am - 7 pm
- Thursday March 29, 2012 - 11 am - 8 pm
- Friday March 30, 2012 - 10 am - 7 pm
- Race Day:
- Late Regsitration/Packet Pickup - Need about 30 people to help direct the arriving runners and get them all they need to race
- Water Stops/Aid Stations - Runners need to refuel and we need volunteers to help hand out the drinks and energy gels
- Set up - We start at 3:30 am setting up the course, registration, and finish area.
- Post Race Party - As the runners finish we need help handing out the finishers medals, post race food, and just helping the tired masses.
- Tear Down - after an event this size, we have to clean up the park and leave it better than we found it, pack all oru stuff up to go home and we need help as those who arrived at 3:30am for setup are tired and need some new hands to help.
So grab some friends, co-workers, family, or friends and be a part of JASR 2012.
